Crease Drove High Quality Workspace Units

This project will provide the development of 6 workspace units on one of three acres of allocated employment land that has been purchased by South Holland District Council with match funding from Lincolnshire Enterprise/emda. Construction began in November 2009 and the units will be finished in early June 2010.

Project aims:

They will provide much needed premises for new start-ups, existing businesses wishing to expand ( a number of whom have already expressed an interest) and will also attract companies from the Peterborough sub region who will want to take advantage of the lower land and premises prices in South Holland.

The construction of these units will also coincide with the completion of the new A16 Spalding Peterborough road which will make access to and from Peterborough much quicker, thus helping to maximise the ‘ Peterborough effect’

The development of this workspace is the second biggest transformational capital project carried out in the district, second only in value to the Red Lion Quarter also currently under construction in Spalding.

The new units will be for sale or for lease or rent with flexible options to maximise their appeal.

The Crease Drove project will deliver 6 much needed quality workspace units to create opportunities for business start up, growth, job creation, inward investment, and diversification of the Crowland and South Holland economy.

    Outcomes

This project will encourage the creation and growth of businesses from both the immediate vicinity and further a field, thus increasing the number of start-ups in South Holland , at the same time bringing additional quality jobs to the district.

By the provision of quality workspace that will be more energy efficient and thus more cost effective for the businesses using them, the businesses chance of survival will be increased, and this in turn will help to promote the development as a successful project.

By close collaboration with the South Holland District Council’s Economic development Unit, and the business support that will be available in conjunction with the Red Lion Quarter project, there will be plenty of business advice available.

Migrant workers will create new businesses and take advantage of available help and advice.

The new workspace will act as a catalyst for future development, both private and public funded, thus adding to the amount of new workspace created.
