The regeneration of Marshall’s Yard has breathed new life into Gainsborough town centre. It has attracted new business into the area as well as providing visitors and residents with excellent leisure and retail facilities.
Marshalls Yard
The Marshall's Yard project saw the regeneration of a prominent brownfield site in the centre of Gainsborough to form a mixed use scheme, incorporating retail, office, workspace, leisure and public open space.
The site is steeped in industrial heritage, and many of the original structures were listed. These have been refurbished and retained, with new architecture sensitively designed to blend the old with the new.
Project aims:
- Refurbishment of existing listed buildings to a high standard
- Crime free zone within Gainsborough
- Facilitation of job opportunities for local people
- Supply chains developed locally
- Encouragement secondary investment as confidence grows
